Educators’ Night features opportunities for educators to play in our galleries, connect with colleagues, discover other local museums, and learn more about our hands-on, STEAM-focused educational programs and resources.

Marble Run Design Challenge: Engineer a solution to a real-world problem using various materials to help you build & refine a working model.
Linkages: Tinker with our tabletop pegboard sets to explore mechanics & movement. Can you create a moving contraption or a dynamic character?
Cardboard Costumes: Unleash your inner costume designer: use cardboard and simple tools to transform yourself! Optional: rock the runway at our 8:00 PM cardboard costume runway show.
Shadow Play: Get inspired to dust off your overhead projector! Explore materials, colors, and light as you create shadow puppets, settings, and props.
Tell Us a Story! Explore stop-motion: animate the triumphant story of a butterfly’s metamorphosis… or the tragedy of the division of an even number by 3. Or, write your own original screenplay!
Program A Bot- Your wish is their command! Learn how to speak two different robot programming languages as you tackle coding challenges.
United Way: The United Way for Greater Austin will provide information about our 2-1-1 Navigation Center that helps connect families resources to meet immediate needs, as well as resources for educators to share with families with young children to support optimal school readiness
KLRU: Bring the World to Your Classroom with PBS Learning Media! KLRU and PBS have curated, FREE, standards-aligned videos, interactives, lesson plans, and more for PreK to 12 teachers!

Texas Memorial Museum: What can fossils teach us about ancient life in Texas? Meet a paleontologist from Texas Memorial Museum and explore fossils from different time periods and environments. Get the scoop on the museum’s curriculum resources, educator workshops, and group rates for school field trips.
Republic of Texas Museum: Although the Republic of Texas is currently closed to visitors, we continue to promote our Annual Art Contest for grades 1-12. Students will submit art depicting people, places, or events from one of ten districts in Texas where they live. Student's research will reveal the diverse heritage and culture of Texans prior to 1850 and their contributions to our great state.
Creative Action: Come meet an animal puppet that will use music and song to help your class develop age-appropriate SEL skills. With a different program for Pre-K — 7th grade, Creative Action's highly engaging interactive performance residencies come into the classroom for five one-hour visits per classroom.
