Social workers, counselors, and RPTs- please join us for this wonderful informational training presented by Renee Turner, Ph.D., LPC-S, RPT-S, in August!
Poor or inadequate documentation damages even the best play therapy sessions. Unfortunately, most play therapists do not receive adequate play therapy specific documentation training. In this APT-Approved training session, participants will review best practices for obtaining and documenting initial sessions, examine appropriate language for documentation, and explore theory-specific goals for treatment planning. We will also discuss how to identify and document play themes as connected to overall treatment plan and treatment goals. Finally, participants will practice documenting in three different styles using play therapy demonstrations. Sample forms provided.
— Identify appropriate, unbiased language for play therapy documentation
— Understand the role of individual and family assessments in play therapy to conceptualize and guide treatment plans and goals
— Gain increased understanding of play themes and how they present in play therapy sessions
Practice identifying and documenting play themes
— Practice documentation skills using play therapy specific notes and standard agency/generic notes
— Learn how write play therapy focused treatment plans based on individual play therapy theoretical orientation.
In addition to RPT, CEU’s are also offered for Texas LPC’s, LMFT’s, & LMSW’s.
