— BEHIND BABES FEST —
We believe women-identifying and non binary artists, producers, entertainers, cultural organizers, and audience members alike deserve a space to celebrate themselves, network and share resources. So, BABES FEST is interdisciplinary. It's a testament to our multitudes. Over the course of five events, we link creative communities in a collaborative initiative for gender equality.
At our inaugural festival in 2015, we transformed a theatre in Austin, Texas into a one-day warehouse party, featuring 27 women-led acts in comedy, music and film. Shortly thereafter, we produced a series of two panels and network events for women in comedy, film and music in New York City (attended by artists like Jessica Williams and Katja Blichfield). From the hype of these initial events, we’ve partnered with Texas' Bullock Museum on their #femmefilmfridays
series and begun an international training program for cultural producers invested in gender equity. We wrapped up our second annual BABES FEST July of 2017, transforming what was initially a one-day event into three days of comedy, music and film (showcasing 50+ acts, the event saw 1500+ attendees). See y'all for round three August 30 through September 2, 2018.

— MEET THE PRODUCERS, PARTNERS AND VENUES —
: We exist to build educated and empowered creative communities at the intersections of sisterhood and space. Through event series, showcases and personal/professional development programs, we amplify and connect women-identifying artists, creatives and entrepreneurs. Since we've been in operation, we've provided a platform of visibility, outreach and financial opportunity to 300+ Texas-based women artists, 400+ women-owned businesses and women activists. We were named «Best Bossy Babes» of 2015 by The Austin Chronicle and were selected by The White House to attend the United State of Women Summit in June 2016. This production has been made possible in part by 2018 presenting partners Resplendent Hospitality and our collaborators at Tito's Handmade Vodka and Universe.
